New API acquisition

In December 2007 API announced that it had acquired BAE Systems’ TEMPEST products business.

The TEMPEST products business develops and produces custom engineered computers, workstations and peripherals that meet the National Security Agency’s TEMPEST standard for limiting electromagnetic emissions from electronic equipment to safeguard data. It has approximately 40 employees at its design, engineering and manufacturing operation in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to expand our TEMPEST business and add the impressive capabilities and expertise resident in Tewksbury to our own” said Steven Rice, President and CEO of Advanced Programs, inc. “The combined operations will have an ability to address large-scale TEMPEST design, development and production programs that is unmatched anywhere in the world.”
